Building schools across Ellembelle
In 2022, 11 newly built classroom blocks and refurbished schools in Ellembelle in Western Ghana were opened as part of OCTP’s partners’ commitment to invest in the communities in which the project operates in.
The new schools are fully furnished with canteens, staff common rooms, libraries and astroturf parks. They took 16 months to build from scratch and will help provide a high-quality education to children across the 10 districts in the Ellembelle region of Ghana.
As part of a wider sustainability push, the schools are fitted with solar panels along with an independent water supply and improved sanitation.
Alongside Vitol’s contribution, Eni Ghana and their community team, Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, the Ministry of Energy and the Leaders and Community of the Western Region were also instrumental in completing this exceptional project.
