HOW THE FOUNDATION WORKS

The Vitol Foundation was established to make a difference to people’s lives

The Vitol Foundation’s work now stretches across five main themes around the globe: education, enterprise and livelihoods, health, humanitarian relief/emergencies, and water, sanitation and hygiene. In each sector, we aim to improve performance, provide wider access and inclusion, foster innovation and catalyse access to finance.

The Foundation has been active in Ghana for over 8 years, working with in-country partners to bring sustainable benefits across our five themes.

It provides financing in different forms (grants and other appropriate funding) to non-profit and for-profit organisations. The funding is typically either unrestricted within an overall project budget or fully unrestricted.

By working with partners in the private sector, national governments, public institutions and international partners, the Foundation channels private capital to invest in reinforcing and improving existing in-country systems, creating lasting and sustainable change.

The Vitol Foundation operates independently of Vitol.
